Default Possible solution for iPad pop-up ads

I was about to give up on viewing the QB because the ads were so plentiful that I couldn't even read one post on one thread before the full page ad took over and made me close down Safari and try again. Then I remembered a recommendation from our local police department internet safety expert.

I downloaded a free web browser called Ghostery and started using it for the QB. So far, I haven't had the issue.

I hope this helps someone else. On the other threads it looks like this particular problem is only on iPads.

Tried it on Bonnie Hunter’s blog and got the full page add from Amazon as soon as I pulled up the page. Guess it doesn’t work for that page. You are so right it is so flustering.

i had put firefox on long ago but had computer trouble and an update made it run snow. hand shake button drove me nuts. back button would not work most of the time. wait and wait. my son made firefox officially my browser and things got better . the back button works most times and only once the stupid black dot for hand shake was going on and on. i cannot stay logged in here. i deleted my old link because it always brought me in unlogged in. saved it again after logged in but still must log in. irritating thing to have to do even though i click on Remember me.
Oh other reason got in here, the ads in between the photos seem to be gone now.

Well tonight I used Ghostery to view the QB and the first thread I clicked on was hijacked by the "win an iPhone" full page ad. If this continues I will have to stop viewing the board, because it will cease to be relaxing or enjoyable. I hope someone finds a permanent solution soon.

I just recently started getting the full page ad Pop Ups, (Saying I won a gift card from WalMart) ONLY while I’m on Quilting Board. I can’t x out of it, I have to shut down QB and log back in. It’s frustrating. This in on my ipad (a newer one) and it doesn’t happend while I’m on other sites. I don’t know why it recently started doing this.

Me too! Sometimes if I am quick enough I can hit the “x” to stop it loading and then hit the back arrow which will reload the thread I was on, but there are lots of times when the highjacker loads too quickly. Those times the only thing to do is to shut down QB and log back in. It mainly shows up on the pictures forum- as aresult, I have stopped looking at threads there. Very frustrating.
