I can't stand the video ads. They are an unwelcome distraction. I find myself sliding the page up and down to avoid them instead of reading the posts. Grrr!

try using Firefox with Adblocker plus (addon) - I don't see any video ads.

I have noticed the same thing. Some of this spam is for things that I certainly do not want me or my grandchildren seeing!! Are our e-mail addresses being sold?

Google is our primary ad provider. They regularly use cookies to track users’ interests on our site, other sites they visit where Google is the ad provider (most sites on the Internet), and based on what Google searches they perform.

If users would like to opt out of this kind of tracking, which Google uses to server “better”, more targeted ads to them, they can do so using the opt-out tools that Google provides. It’s not something we can do for them.
