There has been some recent discussion with the developers as to what is going to be allowed in signatures. please be patient until this is firmly decided

Does anyone know how to add their signature names at the bottom of a posting? I was reading a few
postings and I noticed that some of you, including myself do not have our signatures showing up
at the end of a posting. I see the link to it and when I click on the link it just shows me a separate
page of the actual signature.

I am not sure if I did or did not do something but for some reason mine is still here so there must be a way but don't ask me how I made it happen!!

Same here, may be we won't have our signatures back, but that's not so important at this moment. We still need to figure out how everything works. At least for me.

Try this. Got quilts sent it to me and she did it. Worked great.

Go to this link:

and follow the signature wizard instructions.
Once you get what you want, then choose 'want to use this signature'
then choose the 'generate BB code', then 'generate code for my hand written signature'. When the code is created, highlight it and copy it to the signature spot in your profile

Not sure if this is what I did but go to settings top right of the page Scroll down , on the left side it says general settings under thread display in options there is a box to check that says show signature Not sure if this is what I did or not.

Me too... I have gone on to signature site and tried to redo it... but also failed....

Let us if I can follow instructions. :-)

I do agree that it is not as important as trying to work our way through the new settings. I needed to figure out if I could post a message and this is what I posted as my question, At least i figured that one out. maybe someone will come up with the answer for us.

It possibly works for you because mods have different permissions than regular members.

I couldn't find the Font or the white box with only a small triangle. I have Windows 7, would that make a difference?

I have Windows 7 so it shouldn't. When you replied to my post you have the same window and it reads Font,Size,and again the small box with only a black triangle. Its right above where your would reply. The
wording looks faded. try it again

This must be one of the wringles that has not been ironed out yet. :)

Go to Settings>General Settings>Miscellaneous Options>Message Editor Interface and check the bullet for Enhanced Interface. Then go to the bottom and Save Changes. That will enable all the formatting options in your reply boxes, edit boxes, and all like that. Then go back and try to edit your signature with colors and fonts. Luck!

Sorry, I know I'm really a clunker where it comes to tech stuff, but where my signature used to be is a web site addy. How do I address this? HELP hehehhe

Thanks! At least that allows someone to type in a different font and color. Now if we can just fugure why the my live signature works for some and not others. :-) Oh cool, I just noticed the change to my quick reply. Very cool!

If you read debbie's post you will see the answer. The official decision has been made, they aren't coming back. I certainly would never have put a fancy moving signature in my profile had I realized it was causing even one member health problems.

I do not care for the moving ones. Also the moving or flashing ones are bad for people with epilepsy.

The official decision on what? Moving gifs, yes, but on the mylivesignature ones, too? And if so, where did see that?

I don't have one and don't want one, but I know lots of members do and they neither move nor flash and lots of 'newer' sigs are bigger and more distracting than those were. Besides, they are showing up for at least two of the mods now so why not for the rest of the members??

Images are now permitted in signatures, either uploaded from your PC or from a website, animated gifs are the only ones forbidden. So the mylivesignature png files ought to work.

Okay I tried what sewsewquilter suggested...hope it works. thanks....and apparently it did. Whoopie!

Signatures that end in png are a pingback and aren't allowed, I don't know why. I had a moving one, so that is what I had to remove. I like the fancy signatures, but don't know how to do one without the png.

In trying to re establish my signature, I was emailing a moderator, I asked this question and the reply was as far as they knew, there were no plans to re enable this, so I went ahead and changed mine to the options offered, I have my live signature saved on the computer so it wiould be easy to add it back in the future if this changes. For those of you still trying to figure out how to change fonts, size and color, go to the settings (general) and open it at the bottom of the page there is a miscellaneous option check any thing but basic and try it, and if that one doesnt work try the other, one is wysiwyg, and the other is standard. I used standard..:)

I noticed that a lot of members have their signatures showing up....mine still isn't and I can't seem to get it to show up. Also, I can still not use the email digest that I receive every day. It won't even scroll for me. Thanks!!

Just FYI, several days ago they changed the Can Upload Images for Signature to Yes. The 'live' signatures can be saved as non-png files, although png files are permitted as images here so it shouldn't matter. There is still a piece missing from the puzzle. If they aren't going to permit whatever that piece is, they ought to disable it for everyone. I am not complaining, but, I do find it interesting that we cannot have any signature except the ones you offer and yet every time I open a thread what do I see, a blinking, flashing ad that is animated and irritating, especially the game ad. Wouldn't those cause serious problems for members with certain vision and neurological conditions?

Yeah I can pretty much ignore any ads that are just there, but when they start to flash that is annoying. Fortunately I don't see any ads on the board, I don't know why.

I think there is a way to add your signature - but I am not sure how to do it

I'm trying hard not to hate this new format, but it is hard. Anyone else finding navigating a bit frustrating? Plus, why on
earth (there is one thing that drives me bugs - no wrap around on words when you reach the end of the sentence) would
all of my messages end up being saved so that it appeared that my inbox was full? A fellow member tried to respond to
a private message and was unable to do so because my inbox was full. Okay, I'm trying to keep my mind open to the
changes.

I am very sad over the changes. Don't like the look, no color any more. Page is way to busy and important things are way to small to find in all the adds and options. NOT HAPPY

The avatars are so small now, why bother and there aren't any smile faces. SAD

I don't know if this will help or not. Just found this while trying to figure out my signature. Go to settings at top of page, then to General settings on left side column, scroll to bottom of page where there is a choice of Enhanced, Basic or Standard Editor. I chose Standard. Then go to edit Signature and create your signature. Not a lot of choices of fonts etc but play with it. Good luck!
