I use a program on my compute called Photo Deluxe. It reduces the pixels along with the size of the picture. I just don't understand why digital cameras make such large photos.

Most digital cameras have a setting where you can tell it what size of picture to take, then you don't have to worry about resizing. If somebody is going to print out a picture 11 x 17, they need a higher resolution setting, if you only plan to store the pictures on your computer, 800 x 600 is plenty.
