2013 Fabric Moratorium
#371
I fell off the wagon and went to the store and bought a fat quarter bundle plus 1 yard of batiks for a table runner side swap yesterday. I was so focused on not buying fabric that I didn't get any solid to go with it, and I think I'm out of black or close to it. I'm trying to decide whether to break out the white I have to go with it instead, since that's what the quilt that inspired the runner design uses. I'd not decided on a design when I went to the store though, so I guess I have good reason. I usually let the fabric tell me what design it likes, if that makes sense.

Nancia: Thanks for being the bad example. We want you to stick around and support us whenever we stray. Remember my sister, one day at a time, maybe in your case hour by hour.

Hi, nancia, glad to see you're still well and buying fabric. Just don't forget to use a little so you'll need to buy more. A month with your granddaughter? How lovely. I think my second GD was 10 days old when I drug her through fabric stores in Phoenix - so many to visit when you live in the boondocks.

I was not too good this weekend! I bought 2-2yard pieces of children's fabrics that will make beautiful tote bags for Sadie's Dream for a cure...Each piece was reduced to $5, and I can get 4 totes out of each..I am pretty sure the solid and liner is in my stash

I finished a Christmas quilt last night. Felt good to get that done. Cut falling charms baby quilt out completely out of my stash! Planning on using my stash for backing and batting.

deedum...Do we get pictures of the Christmas quilt? Hurray for using your stash for the charm quilt. On my bucket list for next year is going through my stash, cutting out strips and squares for 4 yet to be un-choosen quilts and that should help to reduce size of it...Ha ha ha...she laughs!

i'm off to stashing smashing! i need to make at least 2 table runners, 2 pincushions and 2 pin/needle cases. years ago i used to go dumpster diving, and it's the same principal-- you throw yourself in, wide open to whatever might be there to inspire you! found a piece of quilters' candy in strawberry, but it reminds me of a favorite bird friend. yay, it's in my stash! all paid for!! hey, irish! i knew i could make you proud! not even thinking about what i'll need to buy to go with it! lolol

Good luck with going through the stash and cutting strips etc, I did that last November. Now I have tons of things cut and my stash just grew! Not sure how that happens, anyway here is a pic of my Christmas quilt. I am happy with it, I can't decide whether to keep it myself or give as a gift which is what I will probably do. I am happy with my quilting, venturing out from meandering with loop de loops and swirls. Finished it off with binding it of this candy material
