2013 Fabric Moratorium
#1011
The man said to me recently that I have "an awful lot of fabric." I reminded him that I don't have nearly as much as most quilters do, and his eyes got big & he said, "Oh, but you do have an awful lot, and you're catching up with them!"
Yep, I need a new moratorium to keep me held back. I may be buying some anyway, but not as much as I would be without you guys to answer to!

I agree with everyone about needing the new thread and moratorium for 2014. I too am going to try and just finish up UFO's and if I do start anything new, try to use from stash unless I ABSOLUTELY do not have a piece I need. I like the encouragement from all of you. Help me hold my feet to the fire in the coming year. I think I said this before but I would rather use up some of what I have than see it go to someone else when I am gone...selfish me! LOL!!!

I'm still in it for next year! It did actually slow me down & I made more thoughtful purchases when I fell off the wagon. Didn't get things unless they would make what I already had more useable.

P.S. I did buy the Eden line from T.T. but if I hadn't I would have drooled all the way home. Did get a 20% discount on it. OH, that was in October -- does n't count right?

Right! Anything from a past month no longer counts. Month by month, day by day! Sometimes hour by hour! This is fabrics anonymous.

Look at you Nancia, your already setting up justification for our lapses. If I understand it if enough time goes by (as little as an hour) all is forgiven and we get to start over? Now that's a moratorium I can live with.

Bought fabric today for GK Super Capes. Making them reversible and using fabric from my stash for the reverse side. A half way attempt is better than none!

OK you brought back a memory. When my son was about six he was into the superhero thing. I made him a red satin cape. He wore it everywhere, towards the end it was so tattered that I considered making him a new one. I know your GKs will love them.

DS requested masks, too! Guess a little bit of a kid in him too. Should make a mask for him, too!

I bought only 2 spools of thread @50% off to quilt MIL's quilt and it was in colors I did not have. Now I am getting ready to throw some serious money at quilt rulers for my Sweet 16. I spent some time actually drafting out different ideas for finishing some UFOs. Each design - upon closer inspection - would go so much easier with rulers and I have only 2 so far. Neither will work for these projects. Next Tuesday is our wedding anniversary and DH told me that he wanted to get me rulers as a present but he didn't know which ones. So I get to pick my own. WHOOTWHOOT!
