2016 UFO Challenge of the Month
#2234
Thanks kwiltkrazy. I don't plan to give up. I love the colors used and the final look. I'm just recovering from a bit of a set back with this project. ........ I was just finishing up with part 4 (30 units) when I realized that I put 25 of them together wrong. ...... sigh ....... so unfortunately I had to spend a day with Jack.

Another UFO FINISH! This one is a baby quilt top that measures 41" by 45". It will be given to a charity to finish.
It was started a couple of years ago. I was given some uneven strips to make into diagonal blocks. The volunteer that gave them to me said it was ok just to sew the strips together even though they were uneven. So I sewed them with only a little trimming.
I had 8 blocks of the 20 needed and then they were set aside for some reason. When I pulled them out again, I decided I didn't want to make 12 more diagonal blocks. So long story short, I made 2 more diagonal blocks and 10 vertical stripped blocks and put them on my design wall. Oh, my! Too overwhelming! So I made more diagonal blocks and finished the quilt with the loon fabric.
I have started sewing the vertical stripped blocks together and will use the loon material in it also. I don't want those blocks becoming an UFO!

My guild had a mini retreat this week-end and I was FINALLY able to finish this UFO. It's about 7 or 8 years old and I've been working on the hand sewing on the binding since June!! But it is completed now. I am showing a close up of the quilting in the 16 patch blocks because I think the L A real did such a beautiful job and it doesn't really show on the front!!
