Today.....Maybe? Maybe I should feed the cat? There is one UFO I'd like to work on.

Well, I end the month with no UFO finished but two I am working on. Now that the BH mystery is winding down (only one more border) I'll be able to tackle the UFOs. But I really enjoy reading about other's successes and challenges. And seeing the finished projects.

I have a quilting friend who I zoom with every Thursday and she was assembling the rows for the BH mystery. What a nice looking quilt. It reminds me of intricate tile floor is a castle or cathedral or a mosque. Hope we get to see yours somewhere on this site. It is a really eye catching pattern. With just one more border, you won't be letting your BHM become a UFO.

This is the 3rd time I’ve tried to post this month. I type my sesame and it doesn’t send. The site logs me out. Frustrating. Oh, well. The February ufo number is #12: I’m keeping this short in hopes that it posts.

Understand, Happylab. I had the same think happen just before December 20th when I was wanting to send out information about the Birthday Swap. Truly frustrating. Solution. I don't remember! Boo Hoo. I think I just waited a day and retried. Then it worked. Technology magic I guess. And I thought I was the only one.

I will get going on #12 ..... tomorrow. Today I am going to take two classes using wool, Spinning with a drop spindle and wool felting.

Love felting and spinning! I could never get the hang of a drop spindle but a wheel - that works fine for me and I’ve spun loads of yarn. I still have many bags to spin from when I had sheep of my own. As for the felting, are you wet felting or needle felting? While I enjoy both, I do more needle than wet. Have a fun day with wools!

The soap felting today was wet felting and the instructor was....shall I say lacking a bit in direction giving skills. My piece had so many faults on one side that I had to cut off pieces of wool so it would "felt" and adhere to the bar of soap. End result was OK. I did a little needle felting in a class offered by a local HS art teacher about a year ago. That was more interesting but my greater interest in wool is wool applique. I will likely keep trying the drop spindle just for fun. Good teacher with excellent skills and ability to demonstrate and help. We each came home with a bag of roving and a wooden drop spindle. Now that was worth the price of the class.

I used to participate in block swaps until the postage became too high. So I have several dozen blocks and #12 is "Autumn Sampler". Which means I have the blocks and need to assemble them into a quilt. I pulled fabric for sashing and have placed it in the queue. I had it at #12 because I figured I'd sew it up in the fall. But now works fine.

My number 13 is a 2.5 quilt called Star Trails. I started it two years ago in the fall. I will have to pull up my suspenders and get going right after I finish a baby quilt. I may try to squeeze in a Boom Block UFO before that. I laid it out and just need to add sashing. We shall see. Both need to move out of the UFO basket to the finished or at least the pile that needs to be layered.
