Besides this group, I've also joined the UFO group to encourage myself to finish what I've started. I went through my boxes of unfinished projects and found 28 quilts in various stages of doneness. Some just need quilting, but others need more assembly. Getting these done will help me use up a bunch of stash fabrics for borders and backing.

It's no coincidence that the Moratorium and UFO threads go hand in hand....must be something in the chromosomes!:D
Welcome to the newbies.... |
Redstilettos hop back up here. There's plenty of time left to be good. :) Krystyna I love your quilt.
And for the second year I'm doing the Moratorium and UFO challenge. Hope to do better at both! |
Krystyna, I'm impressed on how you put your fabrics together. A very fine quilt and so pretty.

UFO's have my attention this year too!

I have never seen a batik I didn't fall in love with. I think I'll join you all and shop my store before I shop everyone else's this year! Lol |
Anne - classes do not count towards the moratorium. Neither does thread, cutting blades, batting, and other necessary accessories to finish up quilts. And yes, you can do it. You can use stash fabrics for the class.
I'm trying to organize my UFOs and ongoing projects (WIPs?). In doing so yesterday I pulled out all the FQs and piled them on the bed. Yikes what a pile! So I decided to sort the FQs for the Turning 20 pattern, which I've had for years but never used. It is a good pattern for charity quilts as it makes up fast. I ended up with 8 baggies of 12 FQs each for throw quilts. But I still have a tub of FQs left over -- they just didn't go well together. But since FQs tend to breed like rabbits, I'm sure I'll have some matching ones in a few months, or I'll start cutting from yardage. So... a long winded way to say I'm using stash. |
Good job Belfrybat.
I got ready to cut some fabrics for a baby quilt this morning and realized that I'm going to be short on the white fabric. What to do??? (I bet you all can guess what my first thought was LOL!) Well, luckily it's snowing like crazy here and the LQS is closed. I think I'll end up finding a variety of other whites/off whites in my stash to mix and match. Means I'll have to do a little more piecing since I was planning on doing strips of white and blocks of color, now I'll have to do blocks of white as well, but I really don't mind. Rob |
