The link did not bring up this pattern, however. :(
I can probably figure it out myself, but if you happen to have the correct link, that would be awesome!
In the meantime, I'm going to TRY to download this image so I have it to "work it out myself".

Thanks again everyone for the MOST EXCELLENT ideas!!

Leta, look up shadow box tutorials on google. The only difference is that you need to add another layer on the outside but the concept is the same.

Leta, my guess when I looked at this was they started with a 10" square layer cake. I was going to cut off 2" from 2 adjacent sides, then use 1.5" strips for the black separating portion, adding small black pieces to add enough length to the cut off layer cake strips to make a 10.5" unfinished square (10" finished). Then sash with 2.5" sashing. I think these measurements will give a good approximation of the proportions in the photo.

I used 7 yards of fleece to make 2 more blankets. I seldom use the same backing for a print but it's what I had from the Hancock Fabrics sales and told myself. "It will work." :). I really wanted to buy 4 yards of solid fleece. I decided to fringe and tie it so it was done and then I wouldn't need to buy more! Lol!

Cool blankets, Connie! It makes my hands hurt looking at all those knots. Good job using stash.

Great throws! That tiger print is very realistic.

I managed to make a two-color border for the latest DP9. The old me would have looked at the scraps and said "Oh, I obviously don't have enough for a border - therefore, I must go shopping." The new me got creative. YAY!

Good for you Martina!
