Thanks QM, just finally trying to get all those block swaps out of the closet and usable. Still have some to go but heading to Florida on Thursday so they will have to wait. Wish I had room for a long arm there but not yet. I should take my Sweet 16 sit down machine there but I just don't use it....to use to standing up& quilting, that's the way I learned. Thought I would when I bought it and have only used it twice. I need to sell it and let someone get some use out of it
Rob, love your wall hanging, nice controlled scrappy and your quilting looks amazing |
allspots..lovely batik quilt, the border is perfect for the blocks.
rob. why do we wait to finish these little ones...I have several that are just crying to be finished. Really like the flanged binding as it pulls your eye to the rust color in the quilt...it sets this little beauty off so well. |
Allspots, your UFO finish is beautiful. Love your colors! Congratulations and TOOT TOOT!

Here is a September finish to add to the mix! Sorry I have been quite AWOL on finishes this year, but I'm hoping to make some progress this week on some others because I'm on staycation from work this week. These blocks were kits and I chose the sashing/border fabric. It's wallhanging size and headed to my besties house.

My gosh, just realized I can post my tiny UFO finishes. They're mini-dresdens from a couple of years ago meant for a WH. I wasn't happy with the results so they sat in a cabinet until I made coasters out of them the other day. They're sewn to felt. And for that matter, I also finished a new ironing board cover I started last year. I had only to make the casing. Less than an hour and done. Another UFO I'll count since it's quilting related bc I sure don't use the ironing board for ironing clothes. It hasn't seen a shirt in a year. Or more. (Probably shouldn't admit that.) No pic of that. Toot, toot anyway.

Hi Janice. Congrats on the finishes. Cute coasters. I never thought to use felt but next lot of coasters will have felt on back. I have a lot of felt scraps here.
We can start a club. I never iron clothes any more so that's two of us. Anyone else? My sis-in-law irons everything, even towels. She dries all her clothes outdoors on the clothesline so I can see why she irons...sometimes things line-dried have a bit of stiffness to them. We put in a new deck 3 years ago and the clothesline is now too far from the deck for me to use and I told DH not to bother moving it. The only thing I put outdoors is bed linens. I hang them over the deck railing. Well...I went off on a tangent...talking too much. Must get back to sewing if I want any finished projects for September. |
Yay Janice, congratulations on all 4 finishes! I love those Dresden coasters.

Now there is some cute coasters Janice. Good job!!!!!
Here is one UFO finish and several more to get quilted before the quilt show. This one has not been sitting to long, just a year, but was intense to finish. Then a friend showed me how/where to paint to give it a little more modern feel than just quilting. I love it. |
QMomma...that is unusual. Beautiful, intricate quilting. It does have a modern feel to it. Congrats on the finish.
