WMUTeach, that's a wonderful idea!

oksew, what a gorgeous fabric. It looks quite gypsy-ish and mysterious to me. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

I just love this wonky look (blocks slapped up on wall) but am not clever enough to figure out how to sew it this way. My question is, do you like this dark sashing or would you use a cream tonal?

Joe's Mom, I like the sashing. It frames the blocks and brings unity to the whole quilt. Even in your pictures the blocks seem to pop and show off themselves.

I actually like the white better. Looks more innocent...which makes no sense I realize but it's the description that leaps to mind.

I like either layout, joesmom...lol.. sorry, not very helpful but I like the simplicity of the first and the boldness of the second.

Here is the QOV I made from those strip pieced orphan blocks I found in sewing closet. Entire quilt from stash...and, I found some backing in stash... all good...lol..

joesmom, I like the darker one.

Teen, your quilt will warm your uncle's heart. My aunt who has to be close to 90 made one for my brother. He has hung it next to his bed so he can see it rather than over the headboard where he couldn't. I like the corner blocks. They stand out with the simpler ones on the sides.

Wow, Teen! That is a very dynamic quilt. I imagine your Uncle will be thrilled with it.

joes'mom: I just made some wonky blocks. I saw a picture and I wanted to try a few. I made 4 and they all tilted the same way. I realized I needed to trim from the back if I wanted to make them tilt the other way. Oh, my! If you want to try wonky like your first picture, I would add a big sashing around them and then take a square ruler and tilt it to the angle you want and trim. It was a tough concept for me to tilt my ruler and cut. I haven't snapped a pic yet.

Teen: Your quilt top is awesome! Lucky uncle!
