Yay!! Just found a backing for Frolic—and will still have enough left to back another smallish quilt. So that quilt will be 100% from stash. It was hard not to go get one more raspberry or one more aqua, but I didn’t even use all that was pulled from stash.

Great use of your stashes Ok and Teen. Thanks for sharing your projects. They look great.

I'm doing well so far. The only purchased lately has been some matching machine thread. Keep up the great work everyone. It is so satisfying playing in the stash and seeing it with new eyes (sometimes). I passed on about 13 lbs of scraps and yardage that I knew I wouldn't be able to use. So, nothing new in. And, have just about finished a new project using fabrics that I purchased last year. I just need to add the borders and I will post a photo.

Love the pillow Teen!

I’ve got a ton of unbundled fat quarters and I’d like to pull some that coordinate and try doing the Teen FQ challenge myself. Just need to decide how many to pull together into my “bundle”.

I am officially done "fixing' that bag of hand dyed fabrics and have posted a pix in the Bonnie Hunter thread:
https://www.quiltingboard.com/8356597-post1302.html

Oh my goodness, I added an entire box to my stash with one $7.99 purchase and a good 40 hours of work and about $40 worth of supplies that is what I have left -- after the Bonnie Hunter quilt.

So the original project, a large (2" finished log) masculine camo colored log cabin is still there in what is left. As is the new idea for the embellished lone star. I think that will be everything I want out of that bag...

So true confession times here: (1) I do really enjoy dyeing but I'm more about natural materials and going into the woods with a basket and coming out with twigs and berries and stuff. Unfortunately, the sorts of results I want are going to be more likely with wool or silk and I work in cotton which typically results in more subtle results than the types of things I'm doing right now or this big bag of artificial dyes. Plus, I prefer to do more patterned things than the blotchy subtlety of this batch of hand dyes. But I'd be very happy in the backyard with a boiling cauldron, stirring it with an old broom handle and reciting lines from Macbeth.

Confession (2): I have a working title for the new project. I was showing it to the hubby and explaining how I want to use the greens and purples and the bright accent pop for a luminescent effect. Then he replies to me in his best Beavis & Butthead voice "heh, it looks like pot leaves" and then in his normal voice "but you'd need to change these points". He's talking about the outer points, I'd be reversing the colors to green foreground and the orange/color pop to background on black or dark purple anyway but he wants to add a green to the end of the diamonds. I sighed and said and you want me to emphasize that don't you?? He's right (I hadn't "seen" what changing the colors would do)... so going to do it his way but it will be something we will keep or at least give consciously. Might reconsider it to the designed size and be wall art instead of going bed sized. Working title: My husband is not a subtle man.

Ice, still chuckling! "Double, double, toil and trouble!"

On my fabric inspiration I've named it --Take a Walk on the Wild Side" Will try to take picks of my menagerie of choices. One of those between days...funeral this morning and Grands BB game later this afternoon...

Yea, Rob!!! So happy I inspired you to do your own FQ challenge. If I could make a recommendation...I would kit up a bundle that matches your home decor...lol....most of my 11 projects were motivated towards decorating my new home tho I did make a couple of things for gifts.... Just something to think about. Good luck and can't wait to see what you come up with in your challenge.

in addition to the pillows shared, today, I used 8 FQ from my stash to make solid colored throw pillows for my couch, as well. Now,,starting on a hexi pillow for my MIL. She gave me a small FQ bundle (2 years ago..ugh!) I haven't cut into and they are her colors so I'm regifting right back to her. Lol...

One month down and 11 more to go! Proud of all of you for holding fast and dipping deep into your stash to finish projects or purchasing just what is needed and not what temped your eyes! On to February!!

Oh Dear.... I seem to have fallen off the wagon after doing a rather spectacular job earlier this week at just leaning over the side a bit. I'm afraid that one of those Bluprint ads got me. 90 batik fat quarters for around $130 including tax and free shipping... In my defense, I've put that same box of 90 fat quarters in my cart and deleted it again at least once a month for the last 3 or 4 years.....

Rob:shock:

The nice thing about that fall Rryder, is those fat quarters will help cushion you when you land!

My dependable Goodwill (near the Bowling Alley) for fabric had some more gorgeous stuff but they are upping the price to about $3 a yard which helps me keep true to myself. That Laurel Burch fabric I wanted last week, well someone else wanted it more and it's still another week or two before it would have come up for sale. But at the other store on the way home, I bought about 8 yards of large scale bicycle/accessory stuff by Shamash and Sons for $8.00. It's still on the bolt, I just counted the rings and unwound a couple rounds to see that it was all ok. It's big enough for a back and/or a OBW for a bike fan, I almost talked myself out of it and had even put it back but grabbed on the way back out since I was going to stand in line anyway...

Rob: Here’s a hand up! Enjoy that FQ bundle.

Iceblossom: Great purchase.
