Other than mask making I have not been making any dent in my stash.

Still more of a dimple than a dent, but one of my Tuesday Ladies took a couple yards of "pale" out of that box. I took the white out last year and put it in black and white, and I still have a beige box, but that pale box is getting pretty empty now... so score on fabric gone :)

Wtg, Iceblossom. I have put all my butterfly blocks together & added a 2.5" border yesterday. Today I hope to add a pale aqua border. The original had an aqua border, & I had that exact shade in stash! So far, the entire top is from stash. I hope the backing will be the same.

I checked with my son, see how he was doing with supplies, asked if he needed anything- his reply....” I was hoping things would start opening up, so I could pick up more colors - I don’t want to keep taking all your fabric” I was touched by his concern. But, assured him, I would have to live to be about 200 to use what I have. 🥴
I packed up a new box for him- 15+ more yards out of my way!
he has been very adventurous and enjoying learning new blocks- he even offered to teach me how to make a ( hollow cube) block on Monday. We got together on our phones and he made one along with me- taking me step by step. He’s going to make a great teacher!
here’s what he’s been doing ...
the lone star one he played with for a few weeks, put it together into a fabulous quilt, now has moved on to tumbling blocks

ckcowl, those are beautiful! How cool that you can enjoy quilting with your son!

ckcowl - those tumbling blocks are great! It is nice to share a hobby with family.

When my twin visited I tried to get her to look at my fabric stash but she had no interest. : (

I'm not sure we're related except by birth. : )

Ck- If I knew someone making as beautiful things as your son - I might them to take more fabric. The world needs more beautiful things.

It’s funny, he just started ( playing around) with his sewing machine in April after losing his job due to COVID. He’s in Kentucky, I’m in Michigan. He’s done this stuff without patterns, books or real instruction- just trying things , trial & error. He sent me a couple pictures when first working on the lone star with a message - ok, what did I do wrong?
I sent back a reply of the importance of pining and explained how to line up the seams- just a couple minutes later he sent a picture of a perfectly aligned section. He has amazed me, and he’s really enjoying it

Fyi - those of you who are looking for quick projects - dont forget gift bags! This one used about 1/2 yard. I'm delighted to find a good use for these cassettes.
I'm going to root thru my fat quarter collection and make a few more in prep for Christmas.

My family used Christmas bags years ago made by my SIL and used for 4 our 5 years. Most have now been gifted outside of the family. I have just two left but lots of holiday fabric.(Wink, Wink!) So on my To Do List is a stack of fabric to make holiday gift bags to gift to each of my family members this year. Thinking 5 per family that will be, 40 bags. That should put a dent in my stash!
