Joe'smom -- I still have my clues for Frolic -- that one she had us cut/make extra units to keep the mystery.... I'm still grumbling about that... but if you didn't get that far you might have less to do than you think. When the time comes, I'd be happy to help but most likely there is going to be a lot of counting and stacking and such!
For Indigo Way, once you get out of the A blocks you will probably get a bit of self-push to see how your combinations come out. I know the first clue we had with light blue my blues were also very light. In later clues and the border I still kept some of the very light but added in more light-medium instead of very light. |
I've been stymied by a bout of sciatica with five A blocks to go. But while I can't press or trim, I can still do a bit of stitching. So I'm planning on finishing sewing the rows of my A blocks together, to press and join together later. I've laid out my B blocks for sewing, and will do the same with them. This is my first ever experience with sciatica, so don't know how long it can be expected last.

Oh Joe'smom, I have had that problem just a few times, I was able to stop it by sitting on the edge of a chair and putting my leg out straight, then lifting my toes back as far as I could and holding that position for a while. My daughter had real good luck with riding her stationary bike until the pain subsided. She had this problem after carrying twins! I hope you can get relief soon! It is so painful!

Thank you, JeanieG! I have the sense that it is improving incrementally day by day.

Sorry I haven't responded in a few days, I'm having vision issues and not really able to read for a few days. I have an eye appointment set but the specialist I was going to see has left the firm. Anyway, couple more weeks ahead of me before I go in.
But sciatica, ugh! Poor Joe'smom ::( It took me a long time to recover and I had some issues with my left leg even after I (and the PT) considered myself recovered. Some stairs I could handle but most I had to have both feet on the same step, couldn't just "walk down" with alternating steps. And the complex motion of getting in and out of a car was awful. I will believe more in robots once they can figure out how to reproduce that series of bends and ups and downs. As you've found, quilting can wait, but it sounds like you don't have all that much to go. Hang in there, hopes for better health to you!! |
Thank you, Iceblossom, and so sorry for your vision troubles! I hope everything can be sorted out when you see the specialist.

It is always good to get a notice that there are messages on the Indigo Way site. I love everyone's unique finishes and creative ways. Ice Blossom, thank you again for monitoring this site....I pray that your vision issues get corrected quickly. And Joe's mom, I also pray for that awful sciatic issue - they can be so painful.
So I am STILL trying to figure out a backing for my Indigo way.....if any of you have suggestions for a color or print, I will gladly entertain the ideas. I've looked at the reddish/orange/pinkish colors but all seem too much. I really like the greens in this pattern, but what? Solid or print? I will post another picture so feel free to advice; there are times when I just can't make a decision. |
Carol in WI, what is your process for choosing backings? If you do any browsing on line, what I usually do when looking for backings is go to the Etsy clearance section.
I think any of your main colors, in a solid-ish tonal, would be great, including a plain muslin backing. |

Thanks for this thread, IceBlossom! I'm not sewing much these days as events overtake one in life and preclude some of what one would prefer to be doing (ie sewing), however, I'll be reading through this thread and enjoying it! Bonnie Hunter is sort of my queen of sewing companionship when I used to watch her on youtube (I would watch her "with" my sister who lives about 600 miles south of me), and I miss that. I do hope to collect all the clues and maybe sew it all together in some future moments when things settle a bit for me. Anyhoo, thanks again for all you do!
