I agree that option #3 looks the easiest, even though the triangle will end up waste (I don't bother to keep such small components). I've also wondered if sewing three strips together and then cutting at a 45 degree angle might not work also for those of us using one fabric per colour? I might play around with that as well.

cute Emma......With these and some from another project...and maybe my DD tiny triangles from this project...I figure on enough for a doll quilt ...... Quilting doll quilts is fun, and does not 'kill' my shoulders.

I think the problem was Bonnie requested strongly that no one post her directions, sizes, #of blocks etc since she is putting this in a book. Bonnie only wants you to show your pictures and link back to her clues for directions. |
I figured it out in bed last night! If you trim off the dog ears with the easy angle, it is super simple. Just line it up and use your quarter inch foot with the guide along the edge. Perfect!

I did a sample block this way and while it doesn't involve drawing lines or templates, I still had to trim the final block. I may have to mess with it a little more...

Well this MQ is definetly a learning opportunity. Spent 2 hours trying out the various methods of part 2. Ended up doing the third way with rectangle and squares. Made 2 blocks. Will get better the more I do...think Part 2 will take me several weeks.
Are all her instructions this tedious and labor intensive? LOL |
Well, I haven't been posting but thought I would jump in. My first BH and MQ. I am sooo out of my comfort zone doing triangles and diamonds and now I know why. I've got this, fellow quilters. I am shooting for the grand prize of the ugliest and most wonky quilt of them all, hands down. I don't want to post any pictures as someone might figure out how to copy me, no chance. Mine won't look like an illusion but a nightmare. Maybe if my wooden mallet holds together I might get them all scrunched together, forget about quilting, is tying allowed? It is fun though. I think Bonnie is an angel or a glutton for punishment for doing this for us. I can't imagine her doing it more than once. Hang in there everyone!!!
