Quilt turned into placemats
1 Attachment(s)
Decided on this lay out. Added narrow strips to right and left sides to make placemats 13-1/2 x 17-3/4. Before binding the blue fabric on the pressing board will be the backing
sorry photo is sideways. ? |
Judy, that looks wonderful!
When you click on the photo it's the right way. I have no idea why but mine do the same thing. |
Judy, great idea! They’ll be such pretty placemats.

Such a neat idea to make placemats. Way to go Judy

Love the purples, and the place mats!

Watson, your purple batiks are wonderful…I look forward to seeing it with borders too.
Judy, what a creative idea for placemats. I have my 64 blocks done and will get them up on my design wall today, I got side tracked yesterday putting away Christmas, taking down the tree and cleaning house. 🤪 |

Here it is with borders. I did mitered corners because of all the angles in the design.

Watson, your miters are flawless! Looks great. I haven't put my blocks together yet but will soon.
|
Watson, that's gorgeous! (I need to practice mitered borders more so I don't dread them.)

Merry Mayhem's mystery quilts always have excellent instructions and have pushed me into designs I wouldn't have tried. Many a New Year's Day has been spent at the sewing machine but usually the project stretches beyond the single day. This year my focus is on baby and wedding quilts, and I have some special fabric for a baby quilt that I thought might work for this mystery. I decided to wait for the final reveal before cutting, though, and am glad I did because the prints are too large for the smaller bits. Now I'm looking for the right pattern but also scrounging out some pieces for the mystery pattern since it's just so lovely. I love all the varieties here!
