Retiac, I may be able to help you with how to copy quilt patterns from the quilt itself. Would you like to learn? If so, PM me. We can discuss the procedure.

I think I am a newbie too...I have done several pieces and have several I need to finish. I love piecing and creating but I don't love the quilting part...but don't like to let someone else do it. I have a Brother 4000. I love embroidery too with the machine. I love to think outside the box and don't want a quilt just like someone elses...so.....would love to have a mentor.
Thanks
Susan

I have contacted BKinCO and Star....but no answer yet.

I am willing to be a quilting Mommie. I have sewn for 45 years and quilted for nearly 20. I teach beginning quilting, and applique. I am not saying I am the best....lots to learn...and always new techniques. I am an encourager by nature and a longarm'er by desire. That's because I love to see finished products! tee hee

Junepot have you got a Mommie yet?

Okay, I am in the same predicament as you. I started in September of last year. I made my first quilt-by phone with one of the ladies I met at a scrapbook store! I know there is so much to learn and all I want to do every day is cut and sew. I need to learn to "stitch in the ditch", borders, piecing and all of those things that come with being a "veteran".

Who wants to adopt me?? I live in Stone Mountain, GA

I am looking for a mommy as well. I just started in September of last year and would love all the help I can get! I am sure there are some of you here like me, that bought a ton of fabric before they started this delightful hobby.
