1 can of coke
1 roast of your choie (beef)
1 pkg lipton opnion soup mix
1 bottle Heinz chili sauce
cook all day in the crockpot.
spoon juice over mashed potatoes.
I usually slice the roast with an elec knife 1 or 2 hours before dinner and put it back in the crockpot.
This way lets the juice get around all sides

Thanks, will try. Here's an easy one for chicken. Mix 1 can of sprite or coke with 1 cup of catsup. Pour over cut up fryer in an electric skillet. Cook at 350 degrees watching as liquid will cook away till chicken is done and tender.

I forgot to mention that you can put the roast in frozen. Not necessary to thaw first.

Equal parts wine and coke in a large roaster pan over a whole or half ham will pull out a lot of the salt. Really good.

here is the recipe

Linda’s Roast

1-Medium Size Roast
1- Can Coke
1-Pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1-12oz. Bottle Heinz Chili Sauce

Place roast in slow cooker, Mix all ingredients and pour over roast.
Turn slow cooker on low heat for aprox. 10 hr.
Best if removed from slow cooker, and sliced and returned to cooker aprox.
1 to 2 hr.s before serving.
If desired you can also use the remaining sauce for gravy over mashed potatoes.

I have usually just used a can of cola and not used the soup mix or chili sause. Roast comes out nice. I think it is the sugar in the cola (and it needs to be regular cola, not diet cola) that tenderizes the meat.

MMMMM Good.

I have used this recipe many times. Always delicious, but very hard to clean up the dish. Started using the crockpot liners and made it a lot easier. Recipe works great with chicken also.
