Default Corned Beef on St. Paddy's Day

I have a piece of corned beef that I plan to make up today. It is a rectangular cut and looks pretty lean. I've been looking at recipes and saw an interesting one that added 2 bottle of beer. Humm....do I want to give up 2 bottles of beer for this? I dunno. Got any recipes, or tips?

I have used beer in the boiling method process, water, and a combination of both. Honestly, with all the added spices, and length of time, we don't notice any difference in taste! Save the beer!
