1-1/2 C. Sugar 1/2 Cup SHortening
2 eggs 2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda 1/4 t salt
5 T buttermilk 1 t vanilla
1 c bananas (5) 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in buttermilk,vanilla and mashed bananas. Sift flour, salt, and baking soda together. Stir into banana mixture. Add nuts. Pour into greased 9" x 5" loaf pan or 2 small loaf pans.
Bake at 375 for 1 hour. Cover pan with foil for the first 30 minutes. Remove foil for last 30 minutes.
