Butterflywing: the chocolate pudding pie with whipped cream sounds good! -- no instant pudding mixes then! :D :D I still have Mom's recipe for it.

We used the cream (from the milk from our cows) to make homemade ice cream and sour cream shortcake and put fresh strawberries on both. HMMM--sounding good, may have to make some.

I loved this lady. Her videos were very entertaining. It just goes to show you how much love is put into preparing food, even if you don't have the money for fancy ingredients.

I watched the video and I liked it she is very good at telling how to make her dish and relating stories. She is the same age my mom would be born in 1918 and mom was a great cook but in later years they ate out a lot.
In our house we ate a lot of canned soup and bologna. Great depression food too.
