Thanks so much for the recipe. I was thinking of this salad the other day and couldn't remember how to fix it or what it was called so I could google the recipe. My mom used to make this all summer, very refreshing.

I have made this recipe with many variations for about 35 years known as ambrosia salad. Sometimes I add canned peaches and fruit salad and fresh cut up bananas. Kind of mix it up and I love to add chopped pecans too. You do not have to add the sour cream, it works with yogurt too.

I make a similar salad with the addition of 8 oz. of cream cheese and a packet of orange jello. It was a recipe my DH's Mother used.

I know it as ambrosia, I love it, haven't had it for several years.

I know variations of this recipe as Ambrosia as well - my favourite to take to parties as it only takes 5 basic ingredients to work.

MIL made a similar dish she called Heavenly Hash.It was made as written, but based on cooked rice, using the canned juice drained from the fruit......with added water as needed to cook 1 C white rice in 2 C juice/water.Cool completely before adding rest of ingredients.Cover & chill.
