this may be the recipe you are looking for, it is german. Idun's Kaffe Kake CAKE: 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla,2 cups finely chopped apples,1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder,1 tsp baking soda 1 cup sour cream,2 cups flour. cream together sugar and butter, then add the eggs and vanilla. mix and then add the dry ingredients. add sour cream and fold in the apples. pour into a 13"by9" baking pan and sprinkle a mixture of 1/2 cup brown sugar,1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tblsp butter and 1/2 cup walnuts on top of the cake batter. bake at 350 for 35 to 40 mins.
