3 medium tomatoes, peeled and finely chopped
1 - 4 oz. can diced green chili peppers drained (I use a jalepeno instead, just my preference)
¼ cup sliced green onion or regular onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    ¼ cup chopped green pepper
Juice of 1 lime or 2 tablespoons vinegar (I always use a lime)
1 or 2 tablespoons snipped cilantro or parsley
    Salt and pepper to taste
    ½ cup tomato sauce

Place all ingredients except for the tomato sauce into a medium mixing bowl stir.

Take out 1 cup of the tomato mixture and place in a blender or food processor. Then add tomato sauce, cover and blend or process just till pureed. Stir into remaining tomato mixture. Cover and chil for several hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.

Store, tightly covered, in the fridge for up to 3 days. Use as a dip for chips or as a topper for main dishes. Makes about 3 1/3 cups sauce.

have you ever canned this recipe? I made some last year from a recipe I found online and canned them in a hot water bath. My DH loved it. I made 12 jars of the salsa and this did not last all winter. Since our garden did nothing this year I will have to purchase tomatoes this year along with everything else.

Thanks for posting this recipe, we both love Salsa!

Sounds wonderful. Just waiting for the tomatoes to get ripe up here in New York!

I’ve never done any canning, my Grandmother used to. I think that is an excellent idea for those that can! Hope you like the recipe, it’s my favorite salsa recipe from the different ones I've tried. :-D
