I have used a little of each and it gives it a nice mellowness. I like to make it myself since I can customize it to what I want at the time for spiciness. There are times I use lime instead of lemon and add sriracha or garlic chili paste.

Thanks for all your input. I really like hummus and find that if i make it myself it is cheaper than sabra, which by the way I like.
