I'll be glad to type it up. In the meantime, JFYI, when you run across some small print, simply hold the control key down while hitting the "plus" key at the same time the number of times you want to enlarge the print until it's comfortable in size!....and....voila! And then to reverse it, simply hold the control key down while at the same time hitting the "minus" key the same # of times you enlarged it. Voila! Or forget all that and just rt. click on page and zoom in the # of times you want! Hope this helpful to those who don't know about it.

:D :D

Ok, everyone, here is what you'll need to make the cookies:

~ 1 c. granulated sugar
~ 1/2 c. butter, softened
~ 1 large egg
~ 2 Tb. milk
~ 1/2 tsp. vanilla
~ 2-1/4 c. all-purpose flour
~ 2 tsp. baking powder
~ 1/4 tsp. salt
~ red, yellow and blue food colorings
~ 1/3 c. each of blue, yellow, pink and clear sugars

The procedure:

1) In a large bowl, using an electric mixer set on medium, beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat until combined.

2) In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture; beat until a soft dough forms. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Cut dough into 4 equal sections.

3) Using red food coloring, tint 1 section light pink. Using yellow food coloring, tint another section pale yellow. Using blue food coloring, tint another section light blue; leave remaining piece plain. Roll each piece into a 12-ince rope. Cut ropes in half.

4) Stack the cut ropes, alternating colors, to form a log. Twist the stacked pieces together to blend colors. Gently roll and stretch dough to form a 10-inch log. Wrap the dough in waxed paper and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.

5) Preheat oven to 375 deg. F. Grease 2 baking sheets. Pour colored sugars into strips on a plate. Slice the log into 1/4 inch thick slices. Roll slices across sugars; arrange on baking sheets 2 inches apart.

6) Bake until lightly golden, 8-10 minutes. Place baking sheets on wire racks; cool for 10 minutes. Transfer cookies to racks; cool completely.

TIPS:

~ The Cookie Wizard says...when slicing the chilled cookie dough, give the log a 1/4 turn every few slices in order to keep the cookies round.

~ It's easy to change the look of these coookies. Use a variety of food coloring and different colored sugars to create your own signature cookie!!

Enjoy making with family/friends!! This recipe comes from the Great American Home Baking Cookie Collection from 1984. If you'd like more recipes, try their website @http://www.cookiecollection.com or toll-free @ 800-683-8115. hugs, n2. :D :D

p.s. This site has a great looking Peanut Butter Pie recipe. Click on "learn more" and then on pie page, click on "Great American Recipes" from Grandma's Kitchen. JFYI!
