Default Mexican Vanilla and Other Vanillas

There is something unique about the taste of Mexican vanilla. We used to buy it only because it was cheap. It was always an item that we brought back across the boarder when visiting Mexico and over the years, after many visits south of the border, our family has really grown to love the flavor of it. It's kind of like Mexican beer, you can't quite put your finger on it, but it just tastes different, more, "down home."

Do you like Mexican vanilla? What is your favorite type of vanilla to bake with?

I prefer Tahitian Vanilla, but Mexican Vanilla is certainly up there with the best!

I bought vanilla when we were travelling somewhere down that way, might have been one of the islands. It was really great, and I'd like to get some more....

My Mom gave me a bottle of Mexican Vanilla! I've only used it once...but it was wonderful! The other Vanilla I've purchased is from Penzys. Not sure what 'type' it is though!

Price of Vanilla at Costco this year was $29.99. Wow. So I just purchased a smaller bottle of good vanilla at Frys
Should have picked up a bottle when we were in Mexico - but did not

I have some I bought in Mexico and Costco Vanilla too. One son likes the Mexican one, the other prefers the Costco one. I like that they are willing to bake, so do not worry about which one they use.

It is pricey, but a bottle lasts a long time and we do lots of baking and dessert making in this house.
