tranum-I have learned to like water. Sometimes in a restaurant I order hot water. Like your gradmothr would hav. At home I drink hot water in the mornings. I have found a tea in a little shop here Teaoli. They sell specialty teas and olive oil. They have a tea blend that is non acid and caffeen free. I do make that sometimes.

This chart and the explanation at the bottom of it were extremely helpful to me. I learned that "acid forming" or "alkaline forming" foods have nothing to do with the pH in them. It's all about how they act in the body--what residue they leave. Lemons, for example--made me wonder how they made the alkalizing list when they're acidic. Now I know. I still don't understand why you'd try to alkalize your system with a lemon if acid tears you up, though.
Anybody?

Also I didn't see pomegranate seeds on the list. THey're yummy and very good if you're trying to reduce inflammation.

Needles, Black Pepper would send me over the top. It is very acidic. There was a support group that met for a while and that was the most helpful of all when we compared symptoms and helps. I am older and was diagnosed after 60 but some who came were young ladies. I can't imagine living with this all your young life raising families.

Yes, I know it's acidic, it's on the "acidic" side of the list. I don't use pepper to cook or salt, just the shakers on the table if a guest wants to partake.

I was always told asparagus lowered the ph in the body. Can't hurt. Will acid blockers not work on these symptoms?
