Instant pot is one of Amazon's best sellers
|
Do I need one? I noticed they have 8 quart ones. I normally cook for 10 plus people every meal. One of my DDs was worried it would be too small for us to get good use out of it.

I absolutely love mine! I bought 2 as Christmas gifts last year thru Amazon, and recently my hubby bought one for his brother who by training is a Chef. Lots of info on the internet for recipes, my favorite are a couple by the name of Amy & Jacky, but there are lots. As far as cleaning goes, mine is stainless steel, easiest clean up ever. I give it a little soak and no issues. If it needs a bit more, then I use Bar Keepers friend (kind of like Bon Ami or Comet). I clean my rubber seal on the top dishwasher rack or just in the sink. There are only 2 of us in the house.

I have one and the learning curve is steep. I rarely use it now because I'm not impressed with my results. I have researched and followed blogs and so on. I am a good cook and don't want to waste good food. I wish I had not joined the IP craze. Not worth it to me.

If you love soups, I made an amazing ox tail soup in mine. Makes great risotto as well.

I have the Power XL and have used for many things. Bean soup in 20 minutes is amazing. I am having a little trouble timing meat to get it tender on the first try. Like everything, there is a learning curve.

I like mine! Today I cooked two chicken carcasses for soup stock - 90 minutes not including coming up to pressure and coming down in pressure.
I've done a lasagna in the pot and really enjoyed that. Chicken breasts come out so tender. The feature I like best is adding ingredients, punching in the time and walking away. It comes up to pressure, cooks, and holds the temperature until you are ready to eat. |
I think the learning curve is individual. My DD and DH took to it immediately and do wonderful things with the Instant Pots. I, however, have had limited success and tend to leave it to others.

I absolutely LOVE my InstantPot. No learning curve for me just read instructions, check cooking time chart, and push a button. Presto.... food cooked to perfection.

is the instantpot more than an electric pressure cooker?
