QVC sells 4 different brands. The Nesco is $96.

Mine has a butter churn setting. I used it once. Made good butter but it was a lot of work to finish the butter.

Yes, I still use mine! I have my original books and make recipes from it.

Had one...gave up trying....some mixes would work and some ended up like a odd shaped bowling ball. I know it was me and the yeast....how do you get that water at precisely that temp! I don't see any bread machine bread mixes in the stores, but I don't really look for them either. I see dozens of bread machines at the local goodwill store! ...oh, how I LOVE bread....the crustier the better.....none in house now, but I have to run errands later.......bread will be on my list!

I just got a new one - love it! We do eat more bread now and I use more flour, but I justify it by cooking more soups and salads. I thought about getting a mixer but the bread machine is easier to store and bread was the only thing I really wanted to make with the mixer.

I have a big Kitchen Aid Pro with dough hook but the bread machine is more convenient and makes much less noise. :)

I have not made home made bread by hand for about 3 months. I do have a bread machine and once in a while I will use it. It does make good bread. I just enjoy doing it the old fashion way. When my children were little I made bread every week but have cut back a lot. Just my husband and I now.

I make a loaf of bread at least once a week for the two of us. I have let the mixer mix just the dough, but find I have better traditionally made bread if I start from scratch...if I want several loaves, dinner rolls or cinnamon rolls I make it the old fashioned way.
Other than thrift shops does anyone know where to find a new one when mine decides to quit? I have a Black&Decker model now. |
