Apple Crisp
Butter a 9x12 cake pan. Add sliced apples. (I use 2 quarts frozen apples). In large bowl, cut 1 stick real butter into Betty Crocker Oatmeal Cookie Mix (envelope). Spoon over apples. Bake 35-45 minutes or until Top is golden brown.
DH and GS polished off half a pan tonight and the night is young, so they’ll most likely have 2nds and it will be history. |
I have the apples, but not Betty Crocker...and don't think my local Walmart carries...darn it! But sounds delish!

Clever! I have never thought of Oatmeal cookie mix. Thank you! Since I usually have to buy oatmeal anyway, next time I'll go straight to the cookie mix and skip a few steps.

That sounds really good.

Here's a great recipe. Always a crowd pleaser.
CARAMEL APPLE PUDDING 6 large cooking apples 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. water 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. flour 1/4 lb. butter 1 tsp. vanilla Dash of salt Few crushed nuts --Peel apples, slice thin. Put in shallow baking dish. Dissolve 1/2 c. sugar with 1/4 c. water and pour over apples. Mix as for pie crust, the flour , butter, brown sugar, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Spread over apples. Sprinkle dash of salt, a dash of cinnamon and nuts over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50-60 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. |
Great idea. Nothing wrong with shortcuts....leaves more time for quilting!
