I like to make the "7" layer salad. It's usually a crowd pleaser. It's lettuce, green onions, green bell pepper, water chestnuts, peas all layered then the dressing is mayo mixed with a little sugar, garlic powder and parmeson cheese. Then it's topped withchopped hard boiled eggs and bacon.
Merry Christmas! Forgot to add: One of our favorite Christmas traditions is Field Peas and Okra, sometimes with cubed tomatoes, most often without. |
We all are really liking this corn dish: cream cheese corn.
Heat up two cans of whole kernel corn, drain, then add an 8oz pkg of cream cheese - maybe a splash of milk if it is too thick. A dash of garlic salt and a pat of butter. Very easy. |
I'm with the Brussell sprouts. Shred/Slice with a mandolin. Add olive oil to high sided skillet. Toss shreds over medium heat till bright green. Turn off heat. Add romano/parmesan blend grated cheese and toss. Squeeze half lemon over all; toss again. Thus, a warm brussell sprout salad

Our christmas dinner will be for just the two of us. We are having beef and homemade noodles with garlic cheese bread from homemade bread. Simple and delicious. Family Christmas will be Friday because that was the day that worked best for everyone.

Broccoli casserole, corn casserole, rice dressing, baked asparagus, mac-n-cheese, twice baked potatoes, I could go on for days, can you tell I'm hungry!

I was out for dinner last night and she served asparagus - was that ever good - long thin stalks. And I love asparagus. Edie
