Looking for something different this year. Other than yams, potatoes, green beans. What are

Our Christmas dinner will be...turkey, bread stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, steamed yellow squash, romaine salad, 5 cup salad (mini marshmallows, sour cream, oranges, pineapple, coconut) and Magic cookie bars for dessert.

I like to make the "7" layer salad. It's usually a crowd pleaser. It's lettuce, green onions, green bell pepper, water chestnuts, peas all layered then the dressing is mayo mixed with a little sugar, garlic powder and parmeson cheese. Then it's topped withchopped hard boiled eggs and bacon.

Usually have what my Mom called scalloped corn.
1 can creamed corn
1 egg
12 to 14 crushed crackers (Mom used saltines, I like Ritz)
Just enough milk to rinse out the corn can
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix well
Dot with 1T butter
Bake 350*F 45 min to 1 hour.
You want it to be slightly brown on top and not too jiggly in the middle.
Enjoy!

It's just the two of us but we're having roasted veggies; broccoli, cauliflower and mushrooms with Parmesan. Maybe a pumpkin or Granny Apple pie.

Haven't had this in a long time.

We're adding peanut butter pie to the mix.
