It is three lovely peacocks of a flock of six that run wild in the woods with the turkeys. They are tame enough not to fear us but not so tame that we could hand feed them. I love them.

The Joy of Cooking, an older edition if you can find one.

We have wild turkeys, but no peacocks. We can hear the turkeys gobbling out there in the early morning. The peacocks are cool. Were they released recently? Does someone own them, or have they become feral?

Absolutely, Joy of Cooking. She has 2 versions already. The older one has the better Peanut Butter Cookies recipe.

tropit, at one time they belonged to a small farmette a few houses from me and after escaping they took up with the local turkey flock. They have been around the neighborhood for years.
