DIY Brownie Mix

Planning to try this:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda

mix above in plastic bag & store away.. when ready to make add
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla
bake 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes

pan size not given but I imagine 8x8 greased pan. Costs about 30 cents. None of those ingredients with long unpronounceable names.

Thanks for sharing this recipe. I love DIY mixes!
I do the same with my cookies ... do a bunch of jars ahead, for easy mixing when the time comes.

Please let us know how this one turns out when you make it!

Great idea to have these ready to mix and bake.

It does ... however ...
I just checked both of my recipes and they both have twice as much sugar as flour.
So, this it seems, that this one is totally normal.

As a rule, I cut sugar down to 3/4 what recipe says.

There is a book: Make a Mix. Lots of great do ahead recipes. I love the Tang one.
