Easiest apple crisp recipe ever

I found this recipe in a brochure that I picked up in Bar Harbor, ME. I've made it several times, super simple and not as many calories as one might think. I thank Gail from Smart Studio in Bar Harbor for sharing this with everyone.

Mom's Apple Crisp

Butter the bottom of a 8x8 pan, pack with peeled and sliced fresh apples.

Top with a mixture of 1 egg mixed with 1 cup sugar and 1 cup of flour.

Sprinkle with 1/2 stick melted butter and powdered cinnamon.

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until light brown; serve with vanilla ice cream or Cool Whip.

That sounds simple and perfect. My neighbor usually brings me apples around this time – I will try this when she does!

Sounds good, and don't be afraid of the butter. You are going to be hearing more about eating butter.
Some scientists are finally catching on to the fact that the processed fats (margarine) are much worse than they thought. Our brain needs fat, no matter how old we are. And it should be good natural fat, like butter, bacon or coconut oil.

I don't think the type of apples really matters. We went apple picking and I picked two types that I don't know the name of. One was a yellow apple that was tart, the other looked like a Mac and was sweet. I used both types and it came out fine.
