My BIL gave me this recipe after he saw my kids spread pb and marshmallow fluff on bread. i would make a batch and send it off with my college kids each fall .

2 cups brown sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon maple extract
2 cups peanut butter
1 (16 ounces) jar marshmallow creme

Boil together the brown sugar, water and maple extract. Mix together the peanut butter and the marshmallow creme. Combine both mixtures until smooth.
(most people would know this as "church spread" from Amish cookbooks)

I'll have to try this. DH like this on ice cream.

This is good stuff-I hear it called Amish peanut butter!

Most Amish restaurants in Ohio serve this with home made bread,as an appetizer.DH prefers it for dessert.I wouldn't dare make it at home, he'd eat the whole bowl full!

Oh yes they do! nothing like a plate of the homemade bread covered in spread!

Quick question...

Once the mixture comes to a boil could I just put the PB and the marshmallow creme and the hot mixture in a food processor? It would seem that it might make the mixture pretty fluffy and smooth.

What do you guys think?

Missy

My hub likes anything sweet & this reminds me of PB frosting...... you can prob make it any way.Or just as if you're making any frosting should work.
