My mother & father loved fruit cake - I never cared for it but liked to help make it. We used it for the groom's cake when I got married in 1973. My friend's daughter married a young man from England she made the fruit cake for the groom's cake because they got married in the summer and no one had fruit cakes that time of year. She had never heard of it before - and when I got married you were supposed to take it home put it under your pillow. No one I know has done it in years.

We enjoy fruitcake and make several batches every year. My grandmother's recipe. She was not a drinker but her recipe called for wine ... Made it several years with just fruit juice but have since discovered it is much better with wine. Won first prize in last year's fruitcake contest at the local bulk food store too!

I really like your fruit cake muffin recipe. I never thought of making them that way & I can see that they would be a great treat right out of the freezer.
:D :D :D :D

I don't make fruit cake. I have a very old recipe (my ex MIL) for rum cookies that seem like individual little fruit cakes. We have to make them every year.

Finished up my fruitcake today. A few days to sit, then they are ready.
