Watson, I looked for the Obesity Factor on Amazon and could only find The Obesity Code. is that the book you were referring to? I noticed there is a cookbook by the same author. Looks very interesting!

I have lost about 7 lbs, I have been eating the same, maybe less. I have been going out for morning and afternoon walks and longer walks since the virus attack. I've been eating a lot of congee (boiled rice to a paste) It keeps me hydrated and full. I add vegetables, meat, herbs, cheese, or sauces. It really is tasty and very filling. I keep a big bowl of it in the fridge.

I'm afraid to weigh, but I noticed yesterday I unbuttoned my slacks in the late afternoon, and this morning my favorite jeans are snug to button.
I'm normally a in-person WW attender. I can't find anything on their site about switching to Zoom or Skype meetings which surprises me, it would keep the local leaders working. Do you have any real information as to how the program has kicked up its "life in lock down game"? Thanks, Sharyn

We tried keto last summer but it didn't work out too well. My husband's cholesterol suffered and for me it's too limiting on fruit.
It does work though.
I just don't like how strict it is.

Great idea to motivate people. Obviously if this isn't a challenge for someone, then they can set a higher goal.

Well, unfortunately, no one has really given you any recipe ideas. We try to cut out empty carbs, so we rarely have rice, potatoes or noodles. We do have a slice of whole wheat bread for breakfast with fruit almost daily. Overnight oatmeal with fruit and some walnuts or almonds is also a wonderful breakfast.

I've been trying to collect low-carb recipes, so I'll share my most recent finds:

Do you BBQ much? We do. My favorite marinade that I use on shrimp, chicken breasts and pork chops is Good Seasons Italian Dressing mix (packet) with 2T olive oil and 2T white cooking wine. For salmon, I brush filets with Kraft Roasted Red Pepper dressing.

We often eat just a BBQ meat/poultry/seafood with a salad with low-cal dressing. Sometimes I cook a fresh vegetable, carrots, green beans or broccoli.

I keep fresh cut-up vegetables on the kitchen counter during the day time for my "snack attacks". DH is more of a compulsive snacker in the evenings after dinner. If that's your snack time, I would suggest some fruit and nuts. Might feel like a dessert substitute. Sometimes in the afternoon I enjoy a sweet treat. Lately it's in the form of an herbal tea with a tablespoon of frothed up International Delight French Vanilla creamer (35 calories). I call it my version of "London Fog". I find that a small piece of dark chocolate is a satisfying treat for me without making me feel like I want to eat more and more (like milk chocolate does). And dark chocolate is healthier. I really like the Hershey's Special Dark Nuggets with Almonds.

Thankfully, I had gotten myself into a healthier eating plan before the shelter-in-place orders, so I had already lost quite a bit of weight and had some good eating habits developing. I've lost over 40 lbs. so far and am into a healthy BMI category, so am quite pleased.

I have been struggling. The first full month, March, I lost weight. My dr. was as thrilled as I was. Now I have put that back on and gained 4 lbs. So now we have to work again through May to get it all back down again. This sea-sawing is not a good thing but the staying at home, even for a homebody is a challenge. I am blessed that I have family and friends that do the majority of the running for me.
So today it is a nice dinner salad!

I am right there with all of you. I think I eat out of boredom and nervousness wondering what is going to happen to us after everything is opened up.
