Our nights are freezing and the tomatoes are still green. I use to make green tomato relish. Hmmm.

I have a green tomato bread recipe.........can't help but wonder if it's not similar to your cake recipe. The bread is heavy and has several spices in it including a little clove. Everyone seems to like it and surpirsed when I tell them what kind it is. Our tomatoes are still coming in red & ripe and very good. We've had a lot this past month.

Mom used to make grren tomato pie - used green tomatoes n place of apples - tastes great. I don't have the recipe, but I think she used all the same spices, etc as in apple pie.

I always had a garden and always made green tomato relish. Now, later in life, I only grow a few tomatoes in containers, so no volume to can. I never had a beef roast without green tomato relish and to this day, roast just isn't much good without the relish.
