Okay - before anyone tries this recipe -- check with Rhonda. I discovered the amount of milk is wrong ANd the amount of sugar and water is outrageous. Wish I'd read this BEFORE I wasted ingredients.

Ok I had Admin fix the milk amt. I apologize for the error! It is right now.

As for the sugar and cocoa amt. You can reduce the amt but it will reduce the amt of pudding you get. You will also have to reduce the water a bit too if you reduce the sugar/cocoa amt.

You can cut the recipe in half for a smaller version if you like.

Yummy!! Hot Fudge Pudding!! This was always a treat to have when I was growing up. My mother got this recipe out of a 1954 Women's Day Magazine.
It said cost $.32 per serving. This is just alittle different and 1/2 the amount.

mix:
1 c Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
2/3 c Sugar
2 T. Cocoa

mix:
1/2 c Milk
2 T Melted Butter
1 tsp Vanilla

then mix these all together. Spoon into greased 9 x 9 pan. Sprinkle over with mixture of: 1 c. Brown Sugar and 4 T. Cocoa

pour over this 1 & 1/2 c. Boiling Water. Bake @ 350 for 40 min.

The rest is like Rhonda said. Heaven!

Oh, forgot, it said serves 8. So it was and still is a very inexpensive treat.
