I use the recipe on the box of oatmeal. Has never failed me!

Tricia, I'm sure you've motivated me to make a batch of oatmeal cookies today!

Like tlrnhi I make the one on the Quaker Oatmeal container. It's called Quaker's Vanishing Oatmeal Cookies http://www.quakeroats.com/qfb_Recipe...m?recipeid=474 A couple of years ago I got lucky and they were giving away a free "tin" with purchase of ONE container. The all the oatmeal fits right in the tin, and it has the directions right there.

I just make one change.... I ALWAYS use whole wheat flour. No one can tell the difference (and I make them all the time and even give them as gifts that people RAVE about) and it packs extra nutrition into every bite. It makes a lot and normally I make half with raisins and half without. (by scooping the cookies out on the cookie sheet until it's about gone and adding 1/2 raisins to the remaining half.

Hope you find one you like!

These are called awsome oatneal cookies.....and they are they are on the quaker site. These are the ones I make and eat them all myself. I just used white flour cause thats all I had

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup vegetable oil, preferably canola
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1 cup “mix-ins” (dried cranberries, mixed dried fruit pieces, raisins, mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts)

Preparation Steps
Heat oven to 350ºF. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, egg, oil, applesauce and vanilla on medium speed of electric mixer until combined. Add combined flours, baking soda and salt; beat on low speed just until blended. Stir in oats and “mix-ins.”
Drop dough by level measuring tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. I spread them out and cut in bars
Bake 9 to 10 minutes, until light brown. (Do not overbake. Centers will appear soft.) Cool 1 to 2 minutes on cookie sheets; transfer to wire racks. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.

Moonpi, I never thought of Cranberries! That's a good idea. My mom is allgeric to raisins and scooping the plain ones out first gets the cookies safely out of the way before I add them for dh. Sometimes I like them with and sometimes without.

The batch I made yesterday I just let there be raisins, since I wasn't planning on sharing them around the extended family, and dh's boss who was in the hospital a little while ago likes them with raisins so dh can take them and the "men can share". Which gets a big chunk of the out of the house.

I have been looking for something high fiber. Found one with Grapenuts!!! Well, Grapenuts have essentially no fiber! I traded for Bran Buds. 9 grams of fiber per 1/4 cup of cereal and the oats. They are great!

Bran Bud Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies
1 1/2 c white whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 c Margerine (I use butter and coconut oil)
2/3 c br sugar (I use 1/2 c)
2/3 c sug (I use 1/2 c)
1 Egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 c Bran Buds
2 c quick oats (I use whole oats)
1 c cranberrie or raisins
Oven 375
Mix in small bowl flour and soda.
In large bowl beat margerine (or butter) then add sugars beat til fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla. Add flour a little at a time and stir or beat with mixer. Add cereal and oats and cran on sheet andberries. Drop by spoonfuls on sheet and bake 8 min until lightly browned. cool 1 min before taking off the tray. Should make 5 dozen.

I always double the reciepe and make mine bigger. As you can see I do not follow directions very well!
