Is there a theme to the meal?

Well I was thinking that since the 22nd/23rd is the frist day of fall to cook a pork roast in apple cider, bake some apples, and roast some vegetables. My husband thinks I am going to out of the budget. Which is usually hundred dollars for 50 people. Usually I spend more, alot more and just eat the cost. But I lost my job two months ago and I can not do it.

Oh my that's a lot of people to cook for. Not sure you can do all that for $100 but it sure sounds good. Good luck!
When fall comes around I look forward to Beef stew.

How about Mac & Cheese, green beans and a salad?????

How about breakfast for supper? There are some delicious egg/meat/veggie hot dish recipes on the internet.

Also, the Bisquick site has some wonderful recipes for "Impossible" pies of all sorts that could be multiplied and baked in larger pans instead of pie plates.

Shop that week's meat specials at your local grocery store. Then use the meat in a way that stretches it further, like with noodles, pasta, casserole, in a hearty soup or stew or chili, etc. Also, look for recipes you can add beans to your main dish to increase the protein without having to depend solely on meat. Otherwise you have to buy enough meat for 100 servings, and that's just about impossible for $100 and also trying to add side dishes. In light of the cost of groceries, perhaps the church (or the families chipping in) should consider a slight increase in the cost of meal. It's not fair to have to make the rest up out of your pocket, especially if you do this on a regular basist.
