Like most of you (I suspect), I love reading cookbooks. I have come across several "fundraiser" type, one from the town I live in. Here in the back is a weird recipe for Vim and Vigor Sauce.
Simmer together in a pot for 1 hour - 2 c. blueberries, fresh or frozen; 1 c. strawberries or raspberries; 1 c. any leftover fruit, canned, fresh or frozen, 1/2 c. water; 1/4 c. lemon juice, 1 c. broccoli, chopped. Remove from heat and cool. Puree in food processor, Return to pt and add 1 6-oz package Jello, any flavor. Heat for 15 minutes. Cool and refrigerate. Serve daily over biscuits, cake, ice cream, doughnuts or yogurt. |
not sure if I want any vim OR vigor!

I was with you until you listed the broccoli, but I bet by the time you pureed it, you'd never even know it was in there.... interesting.

Kind of like the cookbooks where you sneak vegs in to get your kids to eat them. I would leave out the broc and not cook the fruit so much, but then I am somewhat lacking in V&V.

Martha Stewart says she has a green drink every single morning and it's never the same, she juices anything green, veg. and fruit together, she swears it's delicious and gets "things" moving! I don't have a juicer but I do enjoy V8 fusions so maybe it's true.

Better off to just eat the fruits and vegies...it's hard enough to get the daily recommended for fiber without taking it out to make juice...

I have a friend who juices everything and I think that is so wasteful why not just eat the stuff?

Now, does anyone want a copy of the most disgusting recipe i have ever come across --
"Hungarian Brain Pancakes" |
Not sure about this one but it's interesting!
