The Cane Sugar farmers in FL are having a hard time staying afloat. Once they go out of business, no cane sugar will be grown in the USA, only in central america or overseas.
Domino's and C & H are cane sugar,

I have always bought beet sugar - Minnesota grows sugar beets for that purpose. I have never noticed any difference except that Cane sugar is more expensive. I do think cane sugar will flourish in California and Hawaii (C&H), but for the people who have allergies, C&H is better for them. I use beet sugar for all my sugar cookies, breads, cakes, jams and jellies and have never had a problem. Edie

Minnesota farmers probably need support also. I am from Iowa and used beet sugar all my life. I do not see a difference. Maybe there WAS filler in the sale sugar you purchased.

Thanks, Iowa, actually, I just pay a few cents less for beet sugar than I do for C&H. Yes, I will support Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin - have ties in all three states - sugar, corn and cheese! Edie

Since I live in Maui, Hawaii, we always buy cane sugar in an effort to support our local C & H. I have noticed that WalMart carries a cheaper brand of sugar and when I looked at the label found that it was beet sugar. Watch your labels. Aloha...

Thanks for the information.

I had someone point this out to me recently, too. I was going to give it a try since I am usually going for the sale stuff.
