I have a simple and quick reciepe:

2 cups s/rising flour
2 cups milk
2 cups sugar
1 stick oleo/butter
1 quart or so of peaches (or any other fruit, canned or frozen or fresh).

Mix first 3 indredients together, pour into 9 X 13 greased pan. Pour fruit over the batter, then cut oleo/butter into pats and place at radem over the top. Bake @375 degrees for about an hour or until golden brown on top.
The batter cooks up through the batter and makes its own crust.

Mine is close to the one above.

1 cup self rising flour
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 cube butter (melted)

Mix all together and pour over fruit mixture.
Bake in a 9 X 13 pan at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes
or until brown.

It is simple and wonderful. I keep fruit in freezer
and dump in dish and bake when I have company.
