What's always in your refrigerator ?

What would we always find in your refrigerator ? Not counting the usual milk, butter, ketchup, mustard, pickles.

Mine usually has some hard boiled eggs and sometimes cold cooked potatoes or rice. I tell the college age grandkids they'll never go hungry if they have those 3 on hand !

How about you ?

KalamaQuilts 11-28-2016 12:02 PM

cheese . what else does anyone need ? :)

Tartan 11-28-2016 12:09 PM

I second the cheese and add sandwich meats. I also keep carrots and potatoes in the fridge drawers.

Herbal Ice Tea, eggs, butter, cheese, Ambrosia apples (low-acid easy on the stomach & very yummy), potatoes, a few condiments & left overs. Sometimes lettuce, tomatoes, cukes, celery. Huz & I both have food allergies/stomach issues, so no high acid foods or hot spicey stuff for us.

pojo 11-28-2016 11:42 PM

Eggs , Butter, milk, fresh Veggies, Wine, Juice, Pickles, different cheeses, jars of Jam, cottage cheese, Greek Yogurt, Salsa, Maple syrup and the fake Syrup and beer from my cousin's Daughter's Wedding, and Turkey soup from Thanksgiving...

I always have carrots, onion, celery. I usually have a lettuce salad cut up and ready to eat. It has romaine, green leaf, cabbage, carrots, sometimes broccoli all chopped up ready to eat. It keeps good for about 5 days. We take some out when we want a salad. My son eats a lot of salad. It is getting harder and harder to find good lettuce. Our produce is so old all the time. Even when I go to Sprouts or any grocery store. The produce has been sitting in a warehouse for awhile before it makes it out to the shelf.

Wanabee Quiltin 11-29-2016 06:04 AM

Coke, water, milk, fruit, cheese,sour cream,raisin bread,lettuce.

Gosh here in WI it's a lot of cheese! Since my husband is Italian, we have at least 5 or 6 Italian cheeses along with the usual cheddar, swiss, etc. i always have ham and bacon in there too. And my husband drinks Gatorade so there's a lot of that too.

miriam 11-29-2016 06:42 AM

Cheese, eggs, baked bean... Either coleslaw, potato salad, boiled eggs, macaroni salad or bean salad because I can throw some tuna, chicken, grilled cheese, nuggets, baked fish or ham sandwiches with something and have a fast meal.

marge954 11-29-2016 10:13 AM

Buttermilk, lard, jalapeno jelly and homemade pimento cheese.

KalamaQuilts 11-29-2016 12:01 PM

I think we could make a pretty quilt just from our "inner fridge" colors :)

MFord 11-29-2016 12:49 PM

Something in the veggie drawer that is mushier than it should be, and has green spots!

cashs_mom 11-29-2016 03:26 PM

Cokes, bottled water, raspberry iced tea, orange juice and dog food. (Yes, I'm one of those crazy people who feeds their dog raw food and so must refrigerate it).

My Doctor advises me to eat 3.5 cups of fruit and/or vegetables every day. I put washed lettuce in my Salad Spinner and after it's dry from being spun out, I add carrots, onion, celery and other veggies, just as you do. I store it right in the same bowl and love, love, love having it ready. Produce isn't as fresh as it should be, that's for sure.

Nerys 12-18-2016 12:37 AM

Now with the upcoming holidays fancy jams, british marmelade, fancy cheeses, special types mustard, international pickles, and some small jars homemade chutney I made last month.

Lots of seasonal veggies. I love salads and veggies. Tortilla shells and salsa, homemade jams and jellies. Also many types of cheeses and luncheon meats. My hubby's diabetes meds too.

YC Quilter 12-22-2016 07:12 PM

Eggs, salad ingredients, wine...my staples

Jane Quilter 12-22-2016 10:58 PM

Strawberries ..... got to eat them every day.....what is wrong with me? Green grapes, yogurt and often shrimp. Hubby needs a lot of ground chuck, so it is always there. Those are the always. We have 5 full size apple trees of various flavors and we always have apples ready to pick from late June to early October. The grand babies (6, 4 and 0) hop out of their car seats and grab an apple at Meme's house before coming in. They play outside in their fort, selling and munching on apples in their "store." You would think their mother never fed them.

Onebyone 12-26-2016 11:03 AM

Whipped cream cheese and chicken stock. I can make wonderful sauces from those for pasta, rice, and meats.
I always have frozen berries and puff pastry in the freezer.

zozee 12-26-2016 02:08 PM

2% milk, Lactaid and/or coconut/almond milk, flavored creamer, iced tea, eggs, leftovers, every imaginable condiment that comes in a bottle (my hubby is a "Jar Of This, Jar of That" guy), butter, mayo, ginger ale, carrot juice, ....that's the good stuff.

Then there's always produce in various stages of freshness or rottenness
one pickle left in the jar
1/2 cup of soup shoved and forgotten in the way back corners
stale bread and heels
and a partridge in a pear tree!

vschieve 04-11-2017 06:50 PM
