what's next after berries?

I was so sad last week when I ate the last plum off the plum tree, now only the apples abound. Thinking the fruit season had pasted (strawberries, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, (apples all summer and fall), and plums....now done. But wait, my fig tree that I had planted just 2 years ago, decided to ripen, Yeah! Heat them in a pan until bubbly with a little butter and honey, and you have a great sauce for ham/pork, or toss over yogurt, or ice cream, or my favorite, eat plain right off the tree. My SIL , who lives in a warmer climate, says its too cold where I live to get figs...but I wrapped the tree for the winter and I have fruit......

Well done!

How much fun is that! We love figs-but a fig tree would not grow in Colorado. So enjoy yours a lot.

I am impressed. Sometimes fruit is so hard to get to grow. Yum

Roasted figs with a balsamic vinegar/honey drizzle and a little goat's cheese...mmmmmmm...And, from your own tree? Amazing.

I understand what you mean---for 5 weeks, I have eaten little else but fresh peaches!!! of course, I live alone, so it's no problem. And I smile a lot!!! this was the last week for the truck. :(
