Today is "what's left in the fridge". Is a long way until dinner but it is also my sewing day so I am about to pre-cook now and heat up with a handful of grated cheese tonight.

We have boneless skinless chicken breasts we got from the butcher this weekend. A few rashers of bacon from the week before. I'll chop that up and render it some. Add some sliced mushrooms that are starting to look unhappy, but sadly no celery or onion. For flavor enhancement there will be some better than bouillon (chicken) and some herbs. I'll throw in some excess milk, cover, and bake for an hour or so. The cheese when I heat it up will help with appearances :)

Nice -- as I got started I found a couple of acorn squash from the farmer's market. They'll hop on in for the oven ride with the chicken!

Had company last night, and they all loved my stuffed shells. I finally confessed that I buy them frozen at the grocery store, but did not confess that I used jarred spaghetti sauce to bake them in. It's so easy and delicious, along with frozen French rolls and a tossed salad. Ice cream and cookies for dessert. Allowed me time to spend with company and still be looked upon as a great cook!

I cubed up pork tenderloin and crock potted it with a can of cream of mushroom. I really prepared it to deliver to my brother, but also served it for our dinner with Mahatma Rice (my fav) and green beans with bacon.

Nothing wrong when buying frozen or prepared food for a company meal. They can eat made fresh at their home. LOL

Woohoo! When hubby bowls more than once a week (which is every other week) he has to bring me home dinner... tonight I'm getting a phad thai combo with a dinner salad. Will be my big carb treat for the week.

re: bought them frozen, well yes you did, but you knew what to get! I have a number of super easy company/pot luck dishes that require very little time or effort on my part. I freely admit when it is not only premade meatballs, but precooked even.

I was so happy when I " discovered" Stove Top Stuffing.

Home made macaroni and cheese is still better than Kraft macaroni and cheese.

One of our favorite meals is hamburger gravy and mashed potatoes.

I don't feel guilty using instant mashed potatoes, either. They are probably a nutritional nightmare, though.

Growing up in a rural area, bareakfast was before 9 a m, dinner around noon. And supper was after 5 pm
Lunch was. what we had at school or sandwiches taken to the men working in the fields around 10 am or 3 pm.
or sometimes the food served after a funeral.

I still ask what time when someone says "dinner".

We cooked a bone-in ham. It is boiled first to remove salt, then into the oven. Dinner was a grilled ham, cheese, avocado sandwich. Yummy!
Today will be ham bone pinto beans!
